Where the money goes
Green Growth Suriname runs on a virtual network model: a small core team that brings in specialists for the length of a project rather than carrying permanent overheads. That keeps the proportion of a donation reaching project work high.
Donations support the three programme areas described on the projects page:
- New models — near-real-time satellite monitoring of the production forest, the Green Growth Forests citizen science app, and the Busi Taki web series that puts the findings in front of the public.
- Socio-economic projects — community-owned enterprises such as the guesthouse at Kwamalasamutu and the Tuhka Brazil nut facility at Alalapadu.
- Capacity building — the FOREST93 campaign, Green Growth Champions, and environmental financing training for policymakers.
