Lindsay Goossens

Lindsay Goossens is co-founder of the Green Growth Suriname Foundation, and acts as secretary on the board.

Lindsay has an academic background in both management and communications. She holds a master’s degree in information and communications sciences from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands. She furthered her academic knowledge with PhD courses in value framing, a bio-psychosocial systems concept, and multi-stakeholder analysis.

Lindsay has 13 years of experience in marketing and communications, more than 10 of them in Suriname, working with target groups from business leaders to government, and from public campaigns to specific communication exercises in Indigenous and Tribal communities. She has designed communication plans for environment-related processes in Suriname, resulting in campaigns for the national REDD+ programme, the SSCC project (now TWTIS) in the south of Suriname, and the kick-off of the Gold Sector Reform in small-scale mining areas.

She has worked as a team member on several community development projects and participatory engagement processes in Suriname, and was named Communication Person of the Year in 2019 by the Centre for Communications and PR in Suriname.
